‘18 With A Bullet‘ & ‘On the Binge‘
Both 18 With a Bullet and On the Binge are ceative media projects for excluded and alienated young people living in deprived communities where alcohol abuse, gun, knife and gang crime are a feature of their lives.

Supported by experienced staff, young people design, storyboard, script-write, act, film and produce their own stories. The films are based on their own real life experiences and show how they see themselves and their lives growing up in areas where gang culture and gun or knife crime are every day experiences, where adults and children alike abuse alcohol and drugs and where life is tough.

The project use a range of creative techniques around drama, film production and web based radio broadcast alongside a curriculum of life skills and emotional resilience training. Through this young people are trained and equipped with valuable media skills that will help them gain employment or enter education or training opportunities.

Young people learn how to market, distribute and exhibit their productions and build their own work portfolios to demostrate their learning when applying for places at College or applying for jobs.

Personal Power UK provide the technical expertise and The Royal Armories in Leeds provides facilities and expertise around weapon awareness to enhance the impact of the project.
